Software is usually delivered as browser based application or through some other client delivery platform like Remote Desktop or Citrix. This environment is typically a public or semi-private cloud.

Hosted

This is similar to SAAS but the software licensing may or may not be part of the package and the hardware could be owned. Basically hosting takes the Infrastructure Management (servers and network) out of the Enterprise with software licenses being fully or partially owned by the Enterprise but deployed in the cloud. This environment is usually is a private and semi-private cloud.

Hybrid

The Hybrid Cloud has become the most common cloud implementation. This is a combination of software, hardware, and services that are typically partially cloud based and partially on-premise. This methodology provides for a phased approach for the transition to and adoption of cloud computing technologies.
